Getting started

• How do I move my paddle? Tilt your iPhone left and right. Your paddle follows the tilt — no buttons needed.
• The paddle feels too sensitive (or not enough). Open Settings (the gear in the bottom-right corner of the menu) and adjust the Tilt Sensitivity slider. A live test strip lets you feel the change as you drag.

Playing a friend

Z Pong has two ways to play another person: Friend Nearby — two iPhones in the same room, connected over Bluetooth — and Friend Online — a Game Center friend, over the internet.

Friend Nearby (Bluetooth)

• What do I need? Two iPhones in the same room, each with Z Pong installed and Bluetooth turned on. No Wi-Fi, no internet, and no accounts required.
• How do I connect? Both players tap "Friend Nearby." Your phones find each other automatically — tap your opponent's name to start.
• "Bluetooth needed" appears. Friend Nearby uses Bluetooth to connect to the nearby phone. Turn Bluetooth on in Control Center or Settings, and make sure Z Pong has Bluetooth permission (Settings → Z Pong).
• The other phone isn't showing up. Make sure both phones have Bluetooth on, are within range of each other, and are both on the "Friend Nearby" screen. Backing out to the menu and trying again clears most hiccups.

Friend Online (Game Center)

• What do I need? An internet connection and Game Center. Sign in to Game Center in Settings → Game Center — there's no separate Z Pong account to create.
• How do I connect? Tap "Friend Online," then pick one of your Game Center friends to invite. You choose who to play — Z Pong never matches you with strangers. You can also accept an invite a friend sends you.
• I'm not signed in to Game Center. If you're signed out, iOS shows a Game Center sign-in prompt when you open Friend Online. You can also sign in any time from Settings → Game Center.
• My friends aren't listed. You and your friend both need to be Game Center friends, and Z Pong needs your permission to see your Game Center friends list. If you declined it, you can allow it later in Settings → Game Center.
• My invite went unanswered. Invites time out if the other player doesn't respond. Tap Try Again, and check that your friend has Z Pong installed and open.
• Online play is unavailable. Screen Time can restrict multiplayer and friends. Check Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions if Friend Online is turned off.

Gameplay

• How do I win? First player to 7 points wins the match.
• How do I change difficulty? On the menu, use the Difficulty selector. It applies to solo matches against the AI; in Friend Nearby and Friend Online, both players are human, so difficulty doesn't apply.

Privacy

Z Pong runs no servers of its own and has no ads, tracking, or analytics — there's nothing for us to collect or sell. Online play uses Apple's Game Center, which is covered by Apple's own privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
